# Cardano Budget committee (CBC)

## What is the Budget committee?

The Budget Committee is an advisory committee that brings together relevant stakeholders from within the Cardano ecosystem. The purpose of the budget committee is to use the knowledge and observations of these individuals to provide guidance, support, and oversight for Cardano’s annual budget processes.

## Why is this committee important?

The Cardano Constitution requires an annual budget process. This committee facilitates the processes to complete this annual requirement.

## What topics does the budget committee cover? <a href="#the-budget-committee-is-responsible-for" id="the-budget-committee-is-responsible-for"></a>

* Provide creation and management of Cardano’s annual budget process initiatives and policies while aligning with the strategic directions of the Cardano annual budget
* Manage working groups
* Bucket allocation process
* Annual budget
* DRep relations
* Audit and oversight
* Treasury management
* Any other working group as needed for the committee’s business.
* Evaluate the output of working groups and the budget committee
* Communicate the work of the committee to the wider Cardano community

## How to join?

Interested parties can join the Intersect discord and utilize the [#budget-committee-area](https://discord.com/channels/1136727663583698984/1243451569492725760) channel for more information and to interact with the committee.

The CBC participates in Intersect committee elections to select the next cohort of members. Intersect always communicates details on how to apply and vote well in advance of each election.
