Platform/DevOps Engineer
Location: Global/Remote
We are seeking a skilled Platform/DevOps Engineer to join our team and help design, build, and maintain the systems and services that drive our technical infrastructure. As a Platform/DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure that our platforms are scalable, secure, and reliable. You will be responsible for managing cloud environments, automating infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integration of tools and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure across platforms like AWS and Google Cloud.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of systems through proactive monitoring and management.
Oversee infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Optimize resource utilization and cost management across cloud environments.
Automation & CI/CD:
Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve infrastructure deployment and scaling processes.
Collaborate with development teams to streamline Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring smooth and reliable application delivery. E.g. Qovery/GitHub Actions
Implement and manage automation for monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to enhance platform performance.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure that infrastructure adheres to best practices for security, compliance, and governance, integrating solutions for threat detection, incident response, and data protection.
Regularly audit systems to identify vulnerabilities, applying patches and updates where necessary.
Manage identity and access controls, ensuring secure access to platform resources.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with developers to understand their infrastructure needs and provide support during application development and deployment.
Serve as a key technical resource during incident resolution and root cause analysis reviews, contributing to platform reliability and resilience. This may require being on call or resolving issues out of normal working hours.
Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to integrate third-party tools and platforms.
Support Cardano tech team to aid delivery of tools and new features
Performance Optimization:
Continuously assess and improve the performance of infrastructure, identifying bottlenecks and recommending solutions to enhance system efficiency.
Implement scaling strategies to handle increasing workloads and meet business growth demands.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure architecture, systems configurations, and operational procedures.
Mentor and share knowledge with team members, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications/Experience:
Proven experience as a Platform/DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell for automation tasks.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Qovery platform.
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of networking, security protocols, and cloud security best practices.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, GCP Cloud Engineer).
Familiarity with serverless architectures and microservices.
Experience working within the Cardano Ecosystem, running cardano infrastructure e.g. Node, DB-Sync, Mithril, Stake Pool, etc
