Before diving into specifics, here are a few key terms and definitions mentioned in this brief, and related to Cardano’s on-chain governance:

• CIP-1694 - a technical document which outlines Cardano's on-chain governance system. Chiefly, it enables Cardano changes to be proposed, voted on, and enacted on-chain.

• Voltaire GovTool - the initial toolset created through Intersect by its members from the Cardano community. The current implementation supports DRep registration, vote delegation, and DRep voting. Watch this brief overview.
