September 2025 - Board Elections
Overview
In September, the Intersect Board Elections took place — a vital opportunity for members to help select the individuals who will oversee Intersect’s strategic direction and ensure it remains aligned with its mission and community values. During this time members were able to elect four board members out of the seven that compose the Intersect Board.

Roles & Responsibilities
Before applying, we encourage you to review the Board Roles and Responsibilities to fully understand the expectations and commitments of the role.
Term Length
The first two elected candidates will serve a 2-year term.
The last two elected candidates will serve a 1-year term.
This ensures continuity while allowing new voices to regularly join the Board.
Compensation
Board members will receive an annual financial compensation of $35,000 USD in recognition of their time, effort, and contributions.

Voting Period
Voting period open: September 15 at 12 PM UTC
Voting period close: September 26 at 12 PM UTC.
Voting Results
The results were published on September 30.

Voter Eligibility
To participate in voting, members met the following criteria.
Only members who have either:
Been part of Intersect for at least 6 months prior to the start of voting, or
Have successfully completed the verification process, will be eligible to vote.
No Verification Required (6-Month Members): Members (individual or enterprise) who joined on or before 15th March 2025 at 12 PM UTC will be eligible to vote without needing verification.
Verification Option (Recent Members): Members who joined before 15th September 2025 at 12 PM UTC but after 15th March 2025 must complete verification to vote. Verification can be done any time before voting ends.
New Members: Anyone who is not yet a member must:

Verification Process
If you are a recent member and need to verify your identity to vote, follow these steps:
Step 1: Access the Verification Option
Log in to the Intersect Members Area.
On your main dashboard, look for the “Verify Identity” option.
Step 2: Choose Your Verification Method
You have two options to confirm your identity:
Standard ID Verification
Use a government-issued ID to verify your identity through our trusted KYC provider, SumSub.
Decentralized Identity Verification (DID)
Verify your identity using our Decentralized Identity solution, powered by Socious, an Intersect enterprise member.
This method offers a privacy-first, decentralized alternative to traditional KYC, reflecting Intersect’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and user empowerment.
Step 3: Complete the Verification
Follow the instructions for your chosen method.
Once your identity is verified, you will be eligible to vote in the September 2025 board elections.
By offering both verification options, we ensure the process is secure, fair, and flexible, allowing all members to participate in shaping Intersect’s future.
